pebbleRHYTHMICAL MASSAGE AND CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Through MASSAGE, one touches into different layers of the body. First of all the lymph system, to make sure it unblocks, reconnects freely throughout the body and the drainage is active and engaged. Then on to the various ever deeper muscle layers, where we hold tension to varying degrees. Stresses and strains of life inscribe themselves into the tissues, as holding patterns, trapping ones own energy. With rhythmical movements, either gentle of quite deep, a freeing out, a harmonious expansion can be experienced, and a restructuring and aligning of the formerly tight layers can take place, leading to a relaxed, refreshed lightness.

CRANIOSACREAL THERAPY works with the fluctuations of the central nervous system in a very gentle and delicate way. Its effects can be quite deep and profound. It can bring about, for example, a calming and unravelling, ease compression leading to a greater sense of well-being.

ART THERAPY pebble

A common response to dealing with serious illness or stress is for the person to question where he or she is on their life journey Past, present and future issues may be considered in a heightened way. Art therapy is a way to reflect on these questions but in a pro-active way , through clay or paint or drawing. Art itself carries healing qualities , and by entering the creative process, accompanied and supported by the therapist, the individual may find the courage to face these life questions through their artwork. Art therapy will also help children through difficulties in relationships, family upheaval or school–related issues. Through nourishment of the soul life, physical problems may be eased and understood; just as stresses on the soul can cause physical symptoms, so may food for the soul ease the body. Art therapy is a process of reclaiming ones own self-determination of overcoming fear and anxiety and accessing the creative self that lives in each and every one of us. Myths and fairy tales are often used for this self-awakening process as well as the natural world and examples from art history.

EURYTHMY THERAPY pebble

Eurythmy therapy as an art of movement originates from music and the sounds of speech, both vowels and consonants. Each sound quality has its own deep relationship to the human being and the activities within the human physiology. In Eurythmy they are then transformed into movements of the whole body. When used as a therapy the movements and gestures are worked with in such a way that they stimulate processes in the human being on both an organic and souls spiritual level. Eurythmy therapy helps to strengthen, regulate and harmonise. The exercises help too improve posture, mobility, spatial orientation, rhythm, breathing, circulation and warmth. Eurythmy therapy stimulates the life forces and powers of healing which are inherent within the human being. It also strengthens a sense of well-being and self-confidence. The therapy is used in the treatment of a wide range of conditions such as cardio-vascular disorders, neurological problems, muscular-skeletal disorders, and irregularities in child development, life crises and associated medical complaints. It is also helpful in the treatment of mental illness.

Like other anthroposophical medicines, Eurythmy therapy supports your own body in its healing efforts. It can compliment other treatment such as chemotherapy nurturing the resilience of the body to cope easier with the impact of the treatment.

This is a one to one therapy. Eurythmy therapy is designed to meet the need of each individual and a programme of exercise is developed with each client to be practised at home. It is a therapy in which one takes an active role in the process of healing. The exercises are done either standing, sitting or lying down.

Counselling pebble

Our counsellor is an accredited psychotherapist and is less concerned with theory and more interested in "what works". Our counsellor has a particular interest in Brief Therapy to minimise the number of sessions required. The aim is to work in co-operation with each person to define a salient and workable "preferred outcome" - and find ways to move towards it.
