Whooping cough cases increase

Cases of whooping cough (pertussis) reported to the Health Protection Agency (HPA) in England and Wales have more than doubled from 421 cases in 2010 to 1040 in 2011. Call the reception team between 8:00 and 18:30 to book(phone lines are closed Wednesday afternoon). Pre-bookable appointments with any of the nursing staff are available up to 3 months in advance.

On the day appointments are available through the Triage system, if you wish to see a GP on the day please call the reception team after 8:00am, you will be added to the on call doctor list, this doctor will call you back and either resolve your query over the phone or offer you an appointment on that day. Please call as early as you can in the day so if necessary a late morning appointment can be give.

This system has been put in place to ensure that every patient who needs clinical advice is spoken to or seen. Doctor appointments are 15 minutes.
